Let me share a little bit about my professional background and credentials. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a New Jersey State Licensed Professional Counselor. Prior to my private practice, I spent several years providing therapy to college and graduate students at Long Island University – Post Campus. My past clinical experience also includes work in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings at Northwell Health’s Zucker Hillside Hospital.

In an effort to keep up with the latest evidence-based approaches, I frequently attend psychotherapy workshops, trainings, and seminars. I have completed specialized trainings in treating anxiety through The Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Anxiety and Depression Association of America, and Russ Harris’ ACT training program. I’ve also completed training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1), as well as Brainspotting (Phase 1 & 2). These modalities are based on modern research revealing how the brain, nervous system and body play roles in mental health. Most recently, I’ve been training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) which supports healing and transformation through emotional experience within a safe and secure therapeutic relationship.

Prior to my counseling career, I spent several years working in the corporate business world. I find that this experience gives me good insight into career challenges that some people face. In addition, my years as a stay-at-home mom provide me with a solid understanding of the rewards and stressors of full-time caregiving.

On a personal note, I was born and raised on Long Island and continue to enjoy living here with my husband, children, and our two sweet dogs.
